Eli Manning says brother Peyton ‘would never do anything like’ HGH

When Al-Jazeera released its report tying Peyton Manning to HGH, the Broncos quarterback quickly called the allegations “complete garbage.” Peyton’s brother and fellow NFL QB, Eli, followed suit Thursday.

“I just saw his comments right away and know 100 percent that everything just kind of came out of left field and (there’s) no truth to it,” Eli Manning said, via USA Today. “I know Peyton takes great pride in doing things the right way, doing things by the book and he would never do anything like that. It has kind of been nipped in the bud a little bit, and it’s not affecting him or distracting him in any way, which is a good thing.”

The late-December documentary said an Indianapolis anti-aging clinic mailed HGH to Manning’s wife, Ashley, at their home in 2011. Pharmacist Charlie Sly quickly retracted his story when news of the documentary broke.

Eli Manning said he and his brothers were taught at a young age not to do drugs.

“Our father talked to us about doing things the right way and being a class act and not doing things illegally to get a competitive advantage,” he said. “It’s playing by the rules, and we have great respect for the game of football and want to play within the rules, and definitely it’s a great message to kids about doing things the way they should be done.”

The NFL is conducting a probe into the allegations made against Peyton Manning, but Eli Manning said his brother isn’t concerned with that or anything else that isn’t Super Bowl 50.

“His focus is on the Carolina Panthers, on trying to win a championship,” he said.
